ABOUT

Dr. Wafaa Nashaat is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with over 40 years of experience as a pediatrician overseas. She is fluent in both Arabic and English and is passionate about helping women and infants breastfeed.

Dr. Nashaat believes that every mother and baby is unique and that breastfeeding is a rewarding experience that requires patience and support. She uses her knowledge and experience to help mothers start and continue giving their babies the best nutritional start in life: breast milk, which she agrees should be called liquid gold. Breast milk is not only a nutrient but also contains immune factors that protect babies from many infections for years to come.

Dr. Nashaat also emphasizes that breastfeeding can help mothers lose weight gained during pregnancy faster and protect them from psychological disorders after labor. It is proven that breastfeeding is a protective factor against breast cancer and other cancers.

Dr. Nashaat believes that breastfeeding is much more than the delivery of human milk; it is a dynamic bonding process that reinforces the biological relationship between parents and babies. As a mother of two boys whom she breastfed for two years each and a grandmother of five grandchildren, Dr. Nashaat knows how important support is to help mothers complete and enjoy their journey.
